Dive Scholarship Program 2025

Scuba diving is an exciting hobby, but it can also be expensive. The Saskatchewan Underwater Council knows cost can be a barrier to those who don’t have the means to pursue their passion.

That’s why the SUC is pleased to offer two deserving Saskatchewan residents between 16 and 25 years of age, who wish to begin their dive education by taking an internationally sanctioned scuba diving course accredited by the World Recreational Scuba Training Council. Up to $1000.00 in training costs as well as additional course related cost reimbursements are included in each scholarship

You can apply to receive an SUC scholarship by clicking the link below. 

Along with the completion of this application, we also require either a 500-word (minimum) response explaining why you're interested in learning to scuba dive,

or, in lieu of an essay we will accept a video of your response to why you are interested in learning to Scuba Dive. The video should be around 5 minutes in duration.

All submissions become property of the SUC.

*Note* Any essay found to be created through AI will be disqualified.

Please note: If you are under 18 years old you will also need a letter of recommendation from an adult. This could be a teacher, counsellor, coach, etc., any adult that would advocate on your behalf.

One winner will be chosen from the geographical area including Saskatoon and areas south of there, and the other will be chosen from the geographical area north of Saskatoon.

Preference will be given to Indigenous applicants and persons of colour. 

Training will take place in either Prince Albert, North Battleford, Saskatoon, or Regina. We’ll provide funding to offset travel, meals, and accommodation costs.

Training will occur in the spring/summer of 2025 and we’ll work with the scholarship winners to finalize the dates!
