WOMEN’S DIVE DAY/BEACH CLEAN-UP
On July 19th, the Battlefords Scuba Community will celebrate International Women’s Dive Day with some diving at Atton’s Lake. Festivities will begin at 10 am and the first order of business will be a Dive against Debris (beach clean-up) done from shore. The second dive, for those who want to do more than one, will head in a different direction and will be a simple fun dive. This year our event has been endorsed by the Saskatchewan Underwater Council as the provincial event, so let’s make it a good one!
We will have small souvenirs for all the women divers who join us for the day.
The event will be run under the provincially approved guidelines for diving during the re-opening of the province after the pandemic. Should anything change in our recovery, the event will be cancelled and you will be advised. Basically, at this moment, we are still required to practice social distancing and outdoor groups are limited to 30 in number.
The day will wrap up with an old-fashioned Family Picnic, so please bring along your picnic fare and beverage, and we will provide the space. Lawn chairs are likely a good addition to the day’s accessories. Please watch for further information. Please let us know if you plan on joining us and we will get you directions and details as the date approaches.
There are no power boats allowed on Atton’s Lake on the weekends between June and September so we do not have to concern ourselves with the restrictions concerning boats.
Hope to see you there!
